East Pubnico Harbour Lighthouse

Updated: Aug 24, 2022

The sun was playing hide and seek with the clouds as we rolled up to Pubnico Harbour in the morning. No boats is sight but lots of lobster "cars" on shore. These are large boxes to contain lobsters in the water. The lighthouse now sports a dramatic backdrop of wind turbines not even imagined when built in 1854. I think these monoliths will be our legacy, much like Roman aqueducts, in centuries to come.

The seascape photo shows a rock in the water that appears to be a reflection of the eye of the lighthouse (ie. the beacon). I wish I could say I planned this, but I'll take luck anytime. The (slightly underexposed) video has wind noise, but when played silently gives the eerie effect of an abandoned world left to our devices.
