A German trip for Lis and me, spring 2025. The powerful Rhine and lesser Mosel rivers form an upside down wishbone where they meet at Koblenz. The confluence, known as the Deutsch Ech or German Corner was a nice spot for photos with its expansive view and imposing statue of Wilhelm I.

By mid morning we were driving southward from there with one plan in mind: to follow the sedate, squiggly Mosel River for the day.

Lunch was a couple of filling salads washed down with a pair of German beers vom fass (on tap) at Hotel Restaurant Traube in the riverside village of Löf. Time drifted away as leisurely as the passing barges. It felt good to be on holiday.
