Cochem is one of those gems on the Mosel River. For travellers, the river is all about leisure. Our satisfying day trip by car from Koblenz ended in cute little Cochem with a selfie.

Bike routes are super popular, as we noted in the village of Niederfell where sun soaks by the river broke up mid day rides at a seafood snack tent.

As mentioned in a previous post, British painter William Turner was so enchanted with the Rhine that he walked a great deal of the section known as the Mittel Rhein ((Middle Rhine) to paint watercolours. For fun, I used AI and Adobe's Lightroom imaging program to transform a few of my wine and castle photos from the Mosel into his style. Though hardly exact, you get the picture.

German roads are excellent — even second and third tier routes.

Germany is a busy country, so however remote, even in the midst of the greenery that blankets the country, a train or car is certain to come along within minutes.
